SHARED FLIGHT/SHARED SEAT CONCEPT
The charter is the basic building block of our system.
Without someone to charter the airplane we don't have anything to
offer our customers. We are an "on demand" charter company,
which means someone must charter the airplane before we can go to
work.
Typically a "Charterer" books a charter
with Sapphire Aviation, Inc. because of a fixed timetable. If you
have connecting flights in or out of South Florida and you want
to make sure you travel on your schedule, a charter is often your
best option. You have the ultimate freedom to change the time, date
airport option, etc. when you charter.
As the base customer of our system you are also
responsible for any additional fees associated with the charter.
These may include landing fees, facility fees, Bahamian Customs
or Immigration overtime fees, etc. Each passenger is responsible
for his or her own departure tax and U.S. Fees.
Once we have a charter on our schedule, we can
go to work for you.
Shared Seat - Is a person traveling
alone. This is designed for the individual with flexibility
that need to travel, but is not shackled to a specific date. The
fare for a "Shared Seat" is fixed and is the minimum you
can expect to pay to travel to or from the island. Sapphire Aviation,
collects this fare and then we credit a portion of this revenue
to the charterer. (Same link to an invoice)
Shared Flight - Is two people traveling together.
This concept is designed for a couple traveling together. Typically
it is twice the price of a shared seat, for the two. Once again
we credit the "Charterer" a portion of this revenue.
Shared Group - Is three passengers traveling
together or sharee's blocking seats. This category allows a
large group to travel at a discount, in exchange for their flexibility.
You can take up to 6 people, space permitting, for one low price.
Here again we credit the charterer a portion of this revenue
A few words of caution for those of you considering
sharing a flight.
1. The "charterer" is accommodating you
on their charter and you must be aware of that. In essence you are
their guest. They have the freedom to move dates, times, and airports
on a whim, and they are not obligated to take your needs into consideration.
On the other hand, the "Charterer" does not have the right
to expect credits above what is applicable. If a "Sharee",
changes plans the credit goes away. It is that simple.
2. They have priority on space. If you show up at
departure with an unreasonable amount of belongings, expect to leave
some of it behind. A "Charterer" is not going to be asked
to leave their luggage behind to accommodate you.
3. As a "Sharee" you do not have to pay
any additional fees, applicable to the charter (landing fees, overtime,
etc.). You are still responsible for you portion of the departure
and arrival fees due to U.S. and Bahamian Customs.
So if everyone abides by the system, books the travel
arrangements that best suits their needs, and cooperates, this is
the best deal going. The "Charterer" gets the lowest cost
most flexible arrangement and the "Sharees" get an unbelievable
deal to travel to and from Great Harbour Cay. This system has worked
for over 20 years and we are proud to carry on its traditions.
