Picture a cluster of 30 islands over
100 cays sprinkled across a turquoise sea. These are the Berry
Islands, closely knit cays that reveal quiet beaches and snug
harbors. Located 150 miles east of Miami and only 50 miles northwest
of Nassau, the Berrys are easily accessible.
Great Harbour Cay is by geography and population (around
the thousand mark) the largest of the Berry Islands. It has an airstrip
and the only marina in the Northern Berrys. The cay has seven miles
of fine grained beaches providing excellent shelling and water sports.
Great Harbour Cay is the ideal day
trip. Bring your bathing suit and snorkel gear because a short walk
from the airport is the Beach Club which is on one of the Bahamas
most beautiful beaches. And you can also walk (or take a taxi) to
the marina where you'll find The Wharf restaurant and the Pool Bar
& Restaurant.
